Vegan Energy – 15.06.16
I thought it might be a nice idea to provide you guys with a quick and easy way to give yourself some Vegan Energy, via some pretty tasty Energy bars!
In the process of making the bars, you can play around with making your own nut milk, for this example I used cashew. To save the time of cutting the nuts up, why not blend them with water, filter out the remaining bits and you have your very own milk and crushed up nuts! Win, win! (I used a 3:1 ratio of water:cashew)
Now comes the fun part. Add 4 ripe bananas (lots of brown spots!) into a mixing bowl and crush them along with the already crushed nuts. Be sure to make lots of gains whilst doing this stage…
The next step is to add the remaining ingredients, I did it in the following order, but it really makes no difference…
Firstly, add big juicy dates alongside lots of dick saft…
Next add all of the dry ingredients, such as oats, dried fruit, other cereals and spices. (For this I used cinnamon)
Mix until it has a sticky texture, if it’s too wet then add more cereals, if it’s too dry then add more dick saft! Then put the mix onto a baking tray and make sure you compact it, so you can cut it easier when it’s cooked.
After cooking for around 20 minutes, or until you can’t resist eating it, leave it to cool for a while, cut it into bars and store in a container for your next adventure, training, or energy need. (Avoid putting them in the fridge, it makes the bars hard)
